Adlib Fashion includes in one only logo the best of the island craftwork, in which colors, stiles, and the trends of the island are all gathered in each garment promoted by the brand. More than a fashion Logo, Adlib is an actual style of life, which can be easily understood by analyzing the word the identifies it, apocope of the Latin expression “Ad Libitum”.

The same expression can be traduced into “liberty”, concept that in this case for Adlib Ibiza means “dress as you want”. In fact, it’s a different way in conceiving fashion, a thought, a flow that has been able to become popular in all the world.

Nowadays, Adlib Fashion is the logo that most represents Ibiza in the world. Among its major specifications there is the high quality of the materials used to produce each garment, each one handcrafted on the island, using traditional methods.

The hallmarks of the logo, meaning the values that made it recognizable and loved by the public, are two: liberty and good taste.

Adlib Fashion: The History

The history of Adlib Fashion intertwines with the most recent one of the island, let’s say starting in the 70’s until now. It all started when the hippies arrived on the island and with the founding of the Ibiza Fashion Week (the first edition was in 1971).

This was the first event organized on the island, that attracted tourists and visitors from every corner of the world. The handcrafted materials, its delicacy, and its quality, made the rest.

This new wave of opportunity and multiculturalism that was pervading the island, changed into something tangible, which is Adlib Fashion. The new logo born in Ibiza started inspiring thousands of young people, designers and stylists, all united by the same principal: liberty.

A major role in giving birth and helping the logo become more popular was given by the Yugoslavian princess Smilja Mihailovitch , the ambassador in the world of this new style.

Thanks to her the first craftsman on the island were able to obtain the permits to organize the first historical Adlib Fashion Week. The princess died on 2nd November 1994 in her home in Ibiza.

At present, after 48 years of activity, the logo Adlib Ibiza continues surprising and inspiring thousands of tourists and foreigners that arrive on the Balearic Island.

The philosophy has not changed, the same as indicated by the princess Smilja: “dress as you want, but with style”.

Among the designers and stylists that collaborate with Adlib there are the most interesting companies and figures of the island, starting from the School of Arts of Eivissa to the historic firm Espardenyes Torres specialized in producing traditional shoes.

Included are also brands and stylists that are gaining a big success outside the island, such as Elisa Pomar, Ibiza Stones, Tony Bonet, Vintage Ibiza, Virginia Vald.
