The territory of San José de Labritja, located in the north of Ibiza, is one of the best-preserved areas of the island of Ibiza. The main tourist centers of San Joan are Cala di Portinatx, San Miquel and Cala de San Vicente.

The village of San José de sa Talaia, which takes its name from the mountain located in its territory, is located in the southern part of Ibiza, 15 km from the capital of the island and 9 km from the town of San Antonio de Portmany.
Other cities nearby San José are San Agustín des Vedrà, San Jordi de Ses Salines, Es Cubells and Port Es Torrent. Equally striking are the churches of San Jordi, San José, San Agustín and San Francesc de s’Estany, built between the 13th and the 18th centuries. In particular, San Jordi was built to satisfy the religious needs of all the workers of the ponds and salineros who had settled in this place after the Catalan conquest of the islands in the XIII century.
The most particular aspect of this church is its oblique walls and the battlements that adorn the upper dome, giving it a marked strength. This style was justified by the frequent pirate attacks that occurred at that time in this area of ?? the island.

Furthermore, we recommend a visit to Cova Santa, a natural cave about 25 meters deep where you can admire the amazing shapes of stalactites and stalagmites formed by the effect of water over thousands of years.
